We are run by the community for the community as social enterprise in the form of a charitable company.
We rely on the generous support of the community to keep the pool here for years to
come through our ticket sales and income from our small shop and other products.
Please buy a cup of tea, a cold drink or a snack when you visit, or even some swimming accessories,
all profits go back into the running of the pool.

Our outdoor swimming pool is sizable and it is incredibly costly to heat, and maintain. The energy crisis has made this even harder and in 2023 it is going to be difficult to keep the pool open without more financial support.
The pool has to be inspected and repaired regularly and we are
often painting or repairing it to keep it in good working order for all.
We welcome donations from those who would like to support us via the Go Fund Me link above.

Dartmouth Outdoor pool was due to close it's doors at the end of the 2016 season
when it was due to be replaced by the town’s new indoor swimming pool.
Thankfully due to some wonderful volunteers and lots of the general public this
decision was reversed and through much hard work by local volunteers the
Dartmouth Outdoor Pool continues to open every summer season.
Many children have learned to swim here and since 1988 the summer season has been enjoyed by many Dartmothians.
Nothing beats swimming beneath a blue sky with the warm water heated to 28c-30c shimmering in the sunlight.
Each year a number of faithful supporters volunteer each summer to give up their time to run the pool.
There are adult sessions, kids sessions and school sessions. Lessons are available and trained lifeguards are on duty at all times.
Snacks and soft drinks, tea and coffee are always on offer, grassy banks to sunbathe on and hot showers in the changing rooms.
The pool is a truly magnificent asset for the town and we are so lucky to be able to continue to use this wonderful amenity each year.
